I’m writing this post especially for those of you who signed up to my newsletter earlier in the week and have not yet received your FREE e-books. Perhaps, you are re-visiting these pages to see if something has gone wrong?
I have to say that there has been a phenomenal response to my business cards (thank you all for signing up on my blog). However, I am only aware of one issue with the delivery system for the e-books and that only affects those of you with e-mail accounts with Yahoo. A couple of days ago, my autoresponder service did let me know that Yahoo did seem to be holding some of its mail back leading to the delay in delivery of some e-mails. So if your e-mail account is with Yahoo, I’d allow 24 hours for the e-mail acknowledgement of your signing up to get to you.
The system I am using is called a “double opt-in” method, in the trade. It is designed to re-assure you that I will keep your details confidential and will contact you only when you have confirmed that you wish me to do so. The system is designed to prevent other people from using your e-mail account and is encouraged under America’s “Can Spam” laws.
So the first e-mail you will receive from me, will be one requesting confirmation from you that it was YOU who signed up on my blog. Once you have clicked the link within the e-mail, it will clear me to write to you again. The next e-mail you will get from me will contain your password to the “members only” area together with instructions on how to download your FREE e-books.
So if you have signed up on my blog, but not yet got your e-books, firstly check your inbox for the e-mail account you used when signing up. What you are looking for is an email from >>>>David Preston @ Why Not You<<<< and the subject: “(Your name), Please confirm your subscription”.
All you have to do is click on the confirmation link in the e-mail itself. I will then immediately send you instructions on how to download your 20 quality e-books.
Unless you confirm your subscription, you will not get your e-books.
I hope you find this helpful. If you have any other issues regarding non-delivery of e-books, please add a comment to this post and I’ll resolve it for you as soon as I can.
David

Hi David, I received your offer of 5 more free ebooks for writing a comment on your site. Excuse my ignorance but I’m not sure how to put a comment on your blog as when I try to go to the Writers Page it is protected by a password which differs from the original password that you sent me for the Members access. Please advise Many Thanks Ed B
Posted 07 Jul 2008 at 4:13 pm ¶Hey, Ed
Congratulations! You’ve just written your first comment on my site. It’s as easy as that!
I have set up the “Writers’ Bonus” page just so that the first 50 people leaving comments on my blog have a place to collect their bonus.
I’ll be writing separately with your password so that you can collect your bonus set of e-books. In the meantime, now you know how to do it, how about leaving us your thoughts on the Brighton Bootcamp?

Posted 09 Jul 2008 at 4:19 pm ¶We seem to be having the same probs as ED. I left a Comment on your Bootcamp thread and have not, received any instructions/sign of an extra ebook.
Rob/Babs.
Hello Rob and Babs,
Sorry you’ve had to wait an hour or two. The system is working fine.
Unfortunately, I’ve not yet figured out how to automate the sending out of an e-mail in response to a blog comment being posted: I’m having to do it manually.
The only issue has been that I’ve had to go out this afternoon, so I’ve not been in front of my computer to send you the password. I’ll be putting that right within the next 30 minutes.
l also mention in passing that every comment posted on my blog is automatically e-mailed to me, so I shouldn’t miss any of your valuable feedback.
David
