If you are, or intend to be, a serious internet marketer, any launch of a new site that can get you more traffic and help build your list has to be checked out.

Instant Profit List went live on May 3 and is now officially in “pre-launch” until it hits 5000 members when it goes fully live. That’s also when the price goes up if you want the full package.

Free memberships are available and these allow you to email 500 members about your offer(s) every 7 days. Paid memberships are available at a knockdown price during the pre-launch period with the aim of getting those 5000 members in double quick time so that the email mailings can begin.

How much would you pay to be able to send 3000 emails every 3 days? That equates to an extra 28500 emails in front of prospective buyers every month! What difference would that make to your business?

During the pre-launch period you have 2 options.

The first upgrade offered is at $67. This gets you 3000 emails every 3 days plus $375 of additional advertising as a bonus.

Decline the first upgrade and you’re offered a downsell at just $37. This still gets you the 3000 emails every 3 days but reduces the bonus advertising to a $200 value.

And let’s be clear, the best bit is that the prices are not per month, not even for the first year but are for A LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP!

If you’ve ever considered taking a paid membership to a list building site before, but had to settle for an inferior free membership due to lack of cash (and who hasn’t?) this is just the opportunity you’ve been waiting for. Let’s face it: $37 for a lifetime membership? - it just CAN’T get any cheaper.

Yes, there is also an affiliate program available. And yes, if you join as a paid member (like me) by clicking any of the links on this site, then I’ll get paid a 50% commission (that helps to pay the bills).

There’s also a referral contest running with $2000 cash in prize money available.

What other reasons do you need? CLICK HERE TO JOIN INSTANT PROFIT LIST.

I have to admit that I got this wrong.

Living in the United Kingdom, I don’t automatically react to changes in U.S. regulations. My general understanding is that I am subject to the laws of the country where I live (or where I am at the time) should I commit a misdemeanour - speaking purely hypothetically, of course So a change to American Federal Trade Commission (FTC) regulations - not even laws - was dismissed when it came up on my radar, as being irrelevant to me.

WRONG!

I’ve just revisited this topic following a question from one of my readers and I’ve now got a bit of work to do just to make sure I don’t unwittingly fall foul of the revised FTC regulations , which came in during December last year. Because, although I cannot personally be pursued by the FTC, what I had overlooked was that I use American web-hosting and auto-responder services. These companies, of course, ARE subject to compliance with the FTC, so in using their services I’m expecting that I’m required to comply as a condition of my continuing to use their services.

That’s why I’m now going to review all my blog posts, sales materials etc. to ensure that they are FTC compliant.

So, if you too had ignored these changes up till now, I would urge you to think again.

When you get into the detail, a lot of these changes amount to good practice when dealing with customers, in any case. As many countries already follow the US in so many ways, anyway, then it’s probably just a matter of time before each country adopts its own version of these regulations. You might as well get in early, AND your American customers will expect it of you.

Now I couldn’t claim to be an expert on these changes, so I WON’T attempt to give you my own understanding of these changes, lest I mislead you. However, having done extensive research myself, I CAN point you towards a resource that has helped me the most and this could save you a good deal of time. The resource is free (so there are no affiliate commissions for me to disclose to you!) and it is available as a web-based video presentation and also downloadable mp3 audio and PDF versions (name and e-mail required).

Okay, so where did the Noughties go? Is it really 10 years since we were all crossing our fingers that the world wouldn’t end at the start of year 2000 when the much expected millenium bug struck? And what a good example to show that our worst fears don’t always materialise.

I learned just the other day that the cost of preparing for the expected effects of the millenium bug was $300 billion! Can you believe that? Okay, you could argue that the money was well spent because the worst that seems to have happened is that a few burglar alarms went off, but doesn’t that figure seem way over the top?

I suppose it’s all about keeping things in perspective and what better time to do so than on New Year’s Day, when we can’t help but look back and look forward at the same time.

Whatever they were, last year would have had both failures and successes. Or perhaps we fell short of what we were aiming to achieve. As we assess our last year, it is crucial to enter the new one with a positive frame of mind - so, again, we have to keep a sense of perspective. Remember that, above all, we are human and NOT perfect. So yes, sometimes we fail, but let’s not forget that we also have our strengths and our successes.

Sometimes too, we get bogged down in the nitty gritty of our everyday lives and we lose sight of the bigger picture - yet again we lose our perspective.

Here’s a short video so that you can enter 2010 with everything in perspective:

Whatever you are wanting to achieve in the next year, I hope it’s your best yet,

It’s time to check your diary, because here’s news of the next big event in the Internet Marketing calender: the World Internet Summit is again coming to London. It’s coming next month, so mark off 12 to 15 November and cancel all other engagements. This is likely to be the last BIG event in the UK this year, so don’t miss out.

If you’ve been to a “similar” event before, but not actually to the World Internet Summit, don’t get fooled into thinking that all these events are the same. Believe me, NOTHING is like the World Internet Summit.

Where else do you get ALL of these:

the chance to win the proceeds of the LIVE world internet challenge, where you watch how a sales campaign is set up and goes live during the summit. One of the Canadian attendees was recently handed a cheque for $22,077 when she attended!

to see and hear the world’s foremost internet marketing experts teaching the latest and greatest techniques for making money online.

a “Newbies Day”. The World Internet Summit will devote ONE WHOLE DAY to those of you just starting out - just think, the answers to all of your questions in one day!

a Joint Venture Club. You may already know about the importance of Joint Ventures, but how do you get started with them? Only the World Internet Summit has its own Joint Venture Club to help you forge your own. All joint ventures start from being able to network. At the event, you will receive training on how to network successfully. There will also be a structured networking session - you won’t have to rely on just being able to grab a coffee with someone during the interval!

a HUGE bonus pack! Resale rights… master resale rights… product licenses… WOW!

I think you get the idea! Time to check out their website… CLICK HERE.

“Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill was probably the very first self-improvement book that was recommended to me. Unfortunately, I didn’t recognise it as such (working in a sales environment at the time, I classed it as one of many “sales” books that were being recommended to me). Consequently, I never got round to reading it until earlier this year (some 25 years later).

I mention it now, because when I was viewing the Tony Robbins video (see last article), it struck me again how very relevant the principles of that book still are, over 70 years after it was first published. The principles and the methodology behind them still provide the keys to bringing success to your life.

The book provides a veritable warehouse of motivational quotes. Here are a few for you:

All who have accumulated great fortunes, first did a certain amount of dreaming, hoping, wishing, DESIRING and PLANNING before they acquired money.

If you do not see great riches in your imagination, you will never see them in your bank balance.

Success requires no apologies, failure permits no alibis.

Every failure brings with it the seed of an equivalent success.

Practical dreamers DO NOT QUIT.

The greatest achievement was, at first, and for a time, but a dream.

No more effort is required to aim high in life, to demand abundance and prosperity, than is required to accept misery and poverty.

Our only limitations are those we set up in our own minds.

Nothing is impossible to the person who backs DESIRE with enduring FAITH.

Life’s battles don’t always go, To the stronger or faster man, But sooner or later the man who wins, Is the man who thinks he can.

Just where would I be now, if I’d read and acted on this book 25 years ago?

If reading “Think and Grow Rich” has been on your “To Do” list for all too long, TAKE ACTION now and benefit from it. Don’t waste 25 years like I did!

To make it easy for you, there’s an Amazon link below: you’ll see there are prices to suit all pockets. If you don’t do it now, when will you get a better opportunity?

We are all travelling our own paths carrying our hopes, dreams and aspirations with us. As you’re reading this article, those aspirations are likely to include starting / having your own internet business. We know that millions of dollars have been made by a few, but the truth is that millions have made just a few dollars.

None of us set out to fail, so what makes the difference between success and failure?

Rather than starting this topic by giving you my own opinion, I thought that, by way of a change, I’d let Tony Robbins, John Reese and Frank Kern do the initial presentation, so I’ll give you a link to that in a moment. When you’ve watched the video, why not come back here and leave your own comments on the video, or indeed, on the question itself?

This is a crucial question that affects us all. It would be really good to get lots of feedback on this one.

Anyway, click this for the link (don’t forget to come back here and leave your comment afterwards)

I wrote an article a few days ago about the “Make Ebook Covers” product, which I’d recently discovered. The product also shows you how to make buttons for use in salesletters and on your website, and how to do very impressive effects with text. But it’s with ebook covers that it really comes into its own. By their very nature, good ebook covers are very complex creations when compared with web buttons and text effects.

In my last article, I showed you the finished product of my first attempt at an ebook cover. Today, I got to thinking that if I’d made too good a job of that cover then you might be left with the impression that the product was difficult to use. This is far from being the case!

So to put that right, I’ve made a video for you that shows my own project at various stages of development. My aim was to break down the finished product into its component parts to show you how the final image is built up. Please note that the rendering of the video by YouTube has adversely affected the quality of the image. CLICK HERE to see the actual quality of the finished ebook cover.

I hope that seeing the progress of my ebook cover broken down into smaller steps will reassure you that THIS IS SOMETHING YOU CAN DO! The video tutorials in the product itself break down the whole process from start to finish into even smaller, more manageable steps. Each of these is easy to do.

Many products claim to be able to make you money. Not many products can truthfully claim to be able to save you money as well, but “Make Ebook Covers” can. Pay for just one ebook cover on elance.com and you’ll likely pay more than you would for this whole product (and you’d have to wait for it to be done)!

“Make Ebook Covers” is a gem of a product, that has been put together with care and dedication. This shows in the quality of their own ebook - they’ve obviously proof-read it! Most ebooks I see are full of spelling and typographical errors. The video tutorials are professionally produced, and both presenters, George and Alex, clearly know their topic inside out, but explain what they are doing at a steady pace so that you can follow them easily.

It is generally agreed that the way to make the most money from internet marketing is to have your own product(s). Now whether this is your own original work or a private label rights (plr) product, which you are re-vamping to produce your own unique product, one of the challenges you will face will be how to make your digital product LOOK good. Your new ebook, say, may be chock full of quality information, but you’ll only be able to give a taster of that in your sales letter. You’ll also need a quality image - an ebook cover - to graphically represent your product.

Now the old adage “you can’t tell a book by its cover” is still true. After all, how can you hope to convey in one image, on one page, a true representation of the thousands of words that follow? Having said that, though, prospective buyers are now accustomed to seeing images of digital products. So if you use a dull, boring, ebook cover are they less, or more, likely to buy your product? Point made, I think.

So what are your options: well, you either buy, or make your ebook covers.

Now buying is fine when you have more money than time, and when you know just what you want so that you can describe your project accurately on elance or any of the other freelancing sites. But, initially, it’s a bit of a leap of faith, when you’re starting out, to entrust something so important to someone you’ve never met before.

So, how do you actually MAKE ebook covers. Well, if you’re not worried about quality, you can probably get hold of some “off the shelf” templates and try to personalise those. I must confess to having used these in the past, albeit as a stopgap until I had finally mastered the finer points of a decent graphics package. Three problems here, though: which package? (everyone tends to think of Photoshop, which leads to number two), HOW MUCH? and thirdly, how much time will it take to learn all the basic stuff before you get on to the important bit of making quality ebook covers?

You’ve probably gathered by now that I’ve discovered a solution to this problem. Click here to see my first attempt at using it!

Now, I know it’s not perfect, but I must confess that I’m pretty pleased with it as a first effort. (After all, I did fail my art o-level twice(!) with a grade 8, the next to bottom grade).

The ebook cover I made uses the free Gimp software; now that’s been around a while and has its own tutorials but I’ve never gained any level of expertise with it. What’s made the difference for me is an ebook product (with accompanying video tutorials) that is specifically tailored to the art of making quality images for ebook covers, software boxes, cd/dvd cases and even order buttons.

The basics of Gimp are covered very quickly (but thoroughly for the skills you need to make ebook covers) and then it goes straight into a step by step guide to making a “sample” ebook cover. Just download your copy of Gimp and follow along. That’s all I did, just once, before making my own original design.

I admit that I couldn’t remember all the detailed techniques, so I played the video tutorials again alongside Gimp as I created my masterpiece and that kept me on track. I reckon the final product took me about 3 hours to do. But that included, at least, half an hour to register and wandering about on a site giving access to royalty free images, until I found the coloured graph image, which I decided to use. I believe that I should be able to knock off my next ebook cover in about 90 minutes.

A lot of thought has been put into this product: quality step by step info in 2 formats (ebook and video) to give you all the detail you need when you are learning, but also a 24 point quick reference guide for when you are comfortable with the general process but need reminding of specifics.

The resources section includes no less that 13 sites where you can get quality images, many of them free. This in itself is invaluable; I have to admit that, no way, could I have designed that coloured graph myself.

The package also includes a number of good looking templates to get you off to a good start, if you are happier beginning with an existing design and making minor changes to it. Also in there is a bonus video series showing you 3 ways you can make money with this product. Whether you choose to go down any of those routes, is, of course, up to you - you may be happy enough with all the money you’ve saved by making your own ebook covers, all for practically nothing.

I highly recommend this product. If you want to find out more, CLICK HERE.

Hopefully, you do keep your anti-virus software up-to-date and scan your system daily. Even so, we all know that new threats are coming at our precious pcs via the internet all the time. And if your computer has ever been taken over by a particularly malicious virus… well, you don’t need me to tell you just what a nightmare that can be!

So, all in all, the presence of viruses or even the potential for getting a virus on your pc breeds a certain paranoia. So any rumour of a new virus tends to induce a state of blind panic - firstly to protect our own hardware and data, and secondly to let our friends and contacts know so that they won’t be infected.

I was reminded of this recently when a well-meaning subscriber and friend introduced me to the dangers of being e-mailed by a certain Simon Ashton. Now, I’d not had the dubious honour of coming across this particular “gentleman” before, so, sure enough, I dropped what I was doing at the time and gave my full attention to this new “threat” to my valuable data.

Thankfully, I was soon able to put some perspective on this threat by consulting the trusty website, www.hoax-slayer.com. This has become my first port of call whenever I hear of a new virus: this tells me whether it is, in fact, just a hoax. And “Simon Ashton” IS just a hoax.

Now I still don’t understand the mentality of those who create real viruses or even hoaxes - I assume it’s just a “power” thing (punch “Simon Ashton” into Google, and it will come up with 2,190,000 matches) - but I don’t waste much time on them these days. I find I can easily control them by regular use of my anti-virus program and hoax-slayer.

CLICK ON HERE TO TEST HOAX-SLAYER (try typing “Simon Ashton” into the search box).

CLICK ON HERE to download the anti-virus software I use.

P.S. Both of these are free resources.
